We love working with engaged couples and couples love working with us!
The Ballroom Club dance studio has won The Best Studio in Richmond 2019 and we are happy to help you create your first dance that matches your personality and wedding style. Having worked with wedding couples for many years, we have developed effective teaching methods to help couples with different dance levels, needs and goals.
If you have particular dance styles that you'd like to learn, we will customize your dance lessons to focus on those specific styles. If you don't know which styles to begin, we will help you choose dances that work best depending on the style of your wedding and your first dance song. Have a unique wedding dance mix in mind? Let us know! Our team loves choreographing something out of the ordinary. So, if you have a unique idea, don't be afraid to tell us. We are here to make your vision come true!
Don't settle for the middle school sway. Let us help you feel comfortable and look your best dancing at your wedding and beyond.

Wedding Dance Lessons at The Ballroom Club
Wear anything that makes you feel confident and comfortable. Generally our students wear regular day-wear: slacks, jeans, dresses, tee shirts. Bring shoes that you will wear when you go out dancing or similar to the ones you will wear at your wedding. We recommend bringing shoes with a non-grip sole (sneakers are not recommended) that will stay attached to your feet (flip-flops are not the best option).
Firstly, not to worry. You can begin taking dance lessons without knowing your song. Your instructor can start by exploring different styles of dance with you, and this will help you decide on a song that suits your favorite dance style. More importantly, we'll be able to discuss some options and offer suggestions on your first visit.
If you've scheduled your first private lesson, you'll be with your instructor for 45 minutes. Please allow 15 minutes after your appointment for practicing your dance, scheduling and taking notes.
It depends how good you want to become and how fast you learn. Similar to learning a sport or a new language, the more time you put into learning and practicing, the better you get.
We recommend starting dance lessons 2-4 months before your wedding to make sure you have enough time to learn and perfect your dancing. If you'd like to learn a fully choreographed dance, start as soon as you can. Our couples generally do 1 to 3 hours of dancing a week. To help you retain information, at least one hour a week is recommended.
